Dr. Young is originally from the Grand Rapids area and is committed to supporting this community and serving children and families. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Dr. Young attended graduate school in Chicago and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Illinois Institute of Technology. She trained at the University of Chicago Medical Center and led research projects investigating ADHD, academic achievement, and factors that serve as barriers to success. Dr. Young completed her pre-doctoral internship at Children’s Hospital of Michigan before completing a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan in Pediatric Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology. Dr. Young is now a fully licensed psychologist and pediatric neuropsychologist and has transitioned into full-time private practice. She continues to teach and give talks to families, educators, and community groups. She also served as President of the Learning Disabilities Association of Michigan for several years and is a member of the American Psychological Association and International Neuropsychological Society. Dr. Young enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and traveling.
